Northwest Missouri State men's basketball is dancing into its eighth straight NCAA Tournament.
The Bearcats, boasting a region-best 23 wins, were selected to appear in the upcoming NCAA Central Region Tournament March 13-16 as the No. 2 seed.
Host school Northern State (18-1) is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming regional.
Due to COVID-19 protocols, only six teams instead of eight were selected, with the top two teams receiving a bye in the first round.
Opening round games will be matchups of two MIAA teams facing off and two NSIC teams playing for the first time.
Washburn, the MIAA Tournament Champion, is the No. 3 seed. They face No. 6 seed Missouri Western Saturday, March 13, at 8:45pm in Aberdeen, SD. It marks the fourth matchup this season between the two schools. The winner will face Northwest Sunday at 7:45 pm.
No. 4 seed Wayne State draws No. 5 seed Minnesota State Moorhead, each from the NSIC, at 6pm Saturday. The winner meets Northern State Sunday 5pm.
The NCAA Central Region Championship is set for Tuesday, March 16 at 7pm from Aberdeen, SD.
All Northwest games will be available on KXCV 90.5, KRNW 88.9 and KXCV.org with a 30 minute pregame.
